Blaire is an accomplished musician, bassoonist and educator dedicated to connecting individuals and communities to her passion – music. In addition to chamber ensembles, she performs locally with the Rochester Chamber Orchestra, Cordancia, and Syracuse Symphoria.
She completed an undergraduate degree in Bassoon Performance, and a Masters degree, and New York Certification, in Elementary Education at Hofstra University. Blaire recently graduated with a Master of Music, Bassoon Performance & Literature, from Eastman School of Music.
Currently, Blaire is a full-time Doctoral Candidate at Eastman where she serves as the bassoon studio assistant, teaches secondary and private bassoon lessons, and is the Eastman Community Music School bassoon teacher.
In addition, Blaire is a program developer for Eastman’s Institute for Music Leadership’s online eTheory LIVE course, created by Dr. Steven Laitz. She also serves as the program’s Course Facilitator; giving theory instruction to national and international students ranging in ages from high-school to life-long learners. In the summer of 2014, Blaire was the faculty bassoonist and chamber coach at the Luzerne Music Center Summer Camp, working with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
Most recently, Blaire completed a year-long internship with Pegasus Early Music, in association with Eastman’s Arts Leadership Certificate, and was subsequently elected to their Board of Directors.
