Vincent Chang

Currently residing in Rochester, NY, Vincent Chang has worked with various groups around the area. His playing can be heard on the radio channel, WXXI, with the Third Presbyterian Church, as well as through student film scores in the Beal Institute, and RIT’s film studies program. He is also a frequent performer of the Eastman Bach Cantata series. Vincent performs regularly with the Eastman Wind Ensemble and Philharmonia. He is a founding member of the Vintage Winds woodwind quintet, comprised of Eastman graduate students.

In the summer of 2021, Vincent appeared in the Madeline Island Chamber Music Festival with the Spiritoso Winds, where they performed John Harbison’s Quintet for Winds.

Vincent recently graduated as a Bronze Tablet Scholar from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance. During his bachelor’s, Vincent studied with John Dee. He is currently enrolled at the Eastman School of Music in the Master’s in Oboe Performance and Literature program, studying under Richard Killmer.

Aside from music-making, Vincent enjoys decorating pastries, shopping for antiques, as well as pampering his cat, Oliver. He was born and raised in Schaumburg, Illinois, and has strong ties to his Hong Kong ethnic background.
