Samuel Boundy is an award-winning Minneapolis-based cellist. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Music Performance and Literature Degree with Professor Steven Doane at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. He completed his Bachelor performance degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities with Tanya Remenikova. He currently teaches as a secondary cello TA and an intern at the Eastman Community Music School. He is an associate member of the Minnesota Sinfonia and Chicago Civic Orchestra as well as an active freelance cellist contracted by the BlueWaterKings Band-MPLS under the International String League, performing in weddings and other special events. Soloist Awards include Senior Division in Mary West String Competition in 2016 and 2nd Place in Kenosha and Racine String Competitions in 2015. Chamber Competition Awards include honorable mention in Rembrandt Chamber Competition and quarter finalist in the Fischoff International Chamber Competition with the Phoenix Piano Quartet in 2015.
