Avery Dabe
Bassoonist Avery Dabe is a masters student of George Sakakeeny at the Eastman School of Music. Prior to moving to Rochester, Avery studied with Mike Harley at the University of South Carolina.
Avery has freelanced extensively across the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee. Festival involvements include appearances at the Sarasota Music Festival, National Music Festival, and Brevard Music Center. During his time in South Carolina Avery was a teacher in the Bassoons In Schools Initiative, a state funded program to bring bassoon playing back into underserved schools and communities.
Avery is the designer of historic bassoon encyclopedia Heckeldex©. The website has accumulated over 500 unique bassoon submissions, and was featured in the publication of the International Double Reed Society. Avery is originally from Boulder, Colorado, and is based out of Rochester, New York.
