Anna Makarenko Pender

Born in Minsk, Belarus, Anna Makarenko Pender is a graduate of Minsk State Music College, St. Petersburg State Conservatory, and the Mariinsky Theatre Academy for Young Singers in St. Petersburg, Russia. She holds a Bachelors Degree of Music in Vocal Performance and teaching from Minsk State Music College and Master’s Degree in Solo performance, Opera performance, Songs repertoire, singing and pedagogy from St. Petersburg State Conservatory in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Anna was a soloist at that Rimsky-Korsakov Opera Theater, “North Venice” Theatre in St. Petersburg. 

Among her operatic roles are Bastienne in “Bastien and Bastienne”, Despina in “Cosi fan tutte”, Barbarina in “Le nozze di Figaro” by Mozart, Brigitta in “Iolanta” by Tchaikovsky, Marfa in “Czar’s Bride” by Rimsky-Korsakov. Between 2006 and 2018 Anna was primary solo soprano in a’capella vocal ensemble “LYRA” with which she toured Europe (Germany, Switzerland, France, and Italy) and more than 30 state in the USA, performing Russian art songs and arias, liturgical music, and folk songs. 

Anna got married and moved to the USA in 2018.
