The Eastman Community Music School Departmental Awards are given to an outstanding senior and/or an outstanding adult student from each department. The Director’s Young Artist Award

The Director’s Young Artist Award is presented to Eastman Community Music School students who have not yet reached their senior year in high school and who have distinguishing themselves in the larger world of music. This year the award goes to x number of amazing young musicians: xxxx A short bio for each student will be printed in the program.

Class Representative

There is no such thing as a valedictorian in our school, but the faculty shares with me their recommendations for class representative, and this year we are honored to have xxxx say a few words on behalf of the class of 2009.

Jack L. Frank Award for Excellence in Teaching

The Jack L. Frank Award for Excellence in Teaching is awarded to an outstanding Instructor and/or Intern annually. The Frank Award Committee is not charged with designating the “best” teacher at the School as this would be manifestly impossible. Instead, the charge is to identify a faculty member who, by means of unusually inspired and effective teaching, has contributed significantly to the education of our students. The Jack L. Frank award carries with it an honorarium. This year’s Jack L. Frank Award for Excellence in Teaching goes to 3 outstanding teachers: Instructor xxxx and Interns: xxxx A short bio for each faculty member will be read from the podium.

Certificate of Advanced Achievement in Performance

The Eastman Community Music School has a multi-leveled curriculum for each instrument and voice. The Certificate of Advanced Achievement in Performance recognizes those students who have reached the top curricular level for their instrument or voice. The ECMS office tracks these awardees and they are listed in the program

Certificate of Merit

The certificate of merit is the equivalent of our Honor Roll. Students who have received an A in both their lessons and in at least two courses or ensembles, for both semesters, are eligible. The ECMS office tracks these awardees and mail certificates when mailing report cards.
