Tuition with lessons and two or more concurrent 17-week classes or ensembles (15% off): $272 per semester
This is a yearlong course divided into two semesters.

This full-year course will introduce students to basic jazz theory, concepts and applications: scales, intervals, triads and seventh chords, altered chords, modes, the Blues (including various blues scales), common jazz rhythms, and melodic considerations. Emphasis will be on applying theory and beginning to develop jazz vocabulary through transcribing, composing and other analysis.

Prerequisite: Fundamental Musicianship: Theory & Aural Skills 1 or permission of the instructor.
