Angela Rubin

Angela Rubin is an avid performer, chamber musician, and scholar. She has attended numerous summer music festivals including Bowdoin International Music Festival, Heifetz International Music Institute, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Meadowmount School of Music, and most recently, Brevard Music Center where she served as principal violist of the Brevard Sinfonia. Angela has performed with several orchestras including the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rochester Oratorio Society, the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida, and the Butler County Symphony in Butler, Pennsylvania.

As a Rochester native, Angela was a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra for four years and performed at Carnegie Hall her freshman year. She was awarded the position of principal violist in All-County, Area All-State and principal violist and soloist of the NYSSMA Conference All-State Orchestra. Angela has also been awarded first place in the Nazareth College Community Music Program Music Competition, the Arts Alive Scholarship, and the National School Orchestra Award.

Angela holds a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University where she graduated with both College Honors and University Honors. She is currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of Masumi Per Rostad.
