In June 2011, the Eastman School of Music launched a refreshed website based on the design from 2003. This latest redesign is more like a fresh coat of paint, but with a completely gutted and rebuilt interior. We hope that you find it easy to use and easy on the eyes. As with any technical upgrade, there might be some bugs or things that aren’t where they used to be. If you run into any problems or have any questions, email ESM Web Services at webhelp@esm.rochester.edu or send us a message using the Questions and Comments form.

From the announcement email to ESM Faculty and Staff:

The first thing you’ll notice when you land on the home page is a visual change. The basic layout and the colors found on the current site remain, but in a new compact design that makes it easier to navigate. The larger type and new font aid readability. Visual and audio elements are easily accessible directly on the home page. Event dates for calendar events are more prominent, making the listings easier to scan. The red bar now holds extensive ‘drop downs’ (containing everything previously listed in “Inside Tracks,” and more), as well as quick access to Sibley Library and the University of Rochester home page. This navigation is designed to target the specific needs of the different audiences that visit Eastman’s site.

This new look will carry throughout the new web site, creating a unified look and feel between the different sections and departmental pages that will help unify Eastman’s online identity as a whole. Many pages, like the faculty bios, have been moved to the new design already; those that haven’t will be changed over in the next few months.
