The Rotary Club of Avon, New York maintained an musical activities club known as the “Minstrels.” This club was active in producing annual musical productions.

The materials originated with Herbert Zahn, who directed the Minstrels for several years. The collection was donated to Sibley Library upon Zahn’s death.

The collection contains programs, scripts, and some music for the Minstrels’ shows, mainly in the 1960’s, but material for 1945 and 1949 is also included.

Through the connecting link of Herbert Zahn, Watanabe Special Collections possesses three small related groups, the other two of which are the Herbert Zahn Collection and the JY Minstrels Collection.

There are no restrictions on the use of this collection.

The series consists of materials related to the production of the Avon Rotary Club Minstrels’ annual musical performances, including programs, scripts, and music.
