Katherine Hamori
Music Librarian for Information Literacy, Outreach, and Machine Learning

Kate Hamori oversees instruction & outreach at Sibley, serving as instructor of record for graduate-level information literacy courses and coordinating supplemental instruction services and library tours for classes and studios across Eastman. As a member of Sibley’s public services team, she also manages the library’s social media presence, consults on AI-related research concerns, and contributes to outreach initiatives, including events coordinated by the Sibley Activities Guild (SAG). Kate holds master’s degrees in musicology and library science from Indiana University Bloomington, and is currently a PhD candidate in musicology at UCLA. Her dissertation project centers around conceptions of voice online, especially in relation to meme culture and short form audiovisual content (i.e. TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and the like.) A pianist and soprano, Kate is an active choral singer and enjoys accompanying the occasional high school musical whenever the opportunity presents itself.
