Jim Farrington is the Head of Public Services, administratively responsible for Reference, Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, and Reserves & Recordings. He oversees Sibley’s bibliographic instruction services and the library’s Facebook page, and teaches graduate courses in Music Bibliography and History and Aesthetics of Early Sound Recordings. He authored several articles for The New Grove Dictionary and The New Grove Dictionary of American Music, and in 2006 published a book about audio and video equipment in libraries. Since 2004 he has been the book review editor for the Association for Recorded Sound Collections Journal. As a trumpeter he enjoys playing in many local jazz and pop bands.
