The Brighton Community Band was founded in 2018 as an opportunity to give adults of all ages and students grades 7-12 a place to make music together, regardless of current abilities. We remain open to musicians of all skill levels within the traditional concert band instrumentation. Each season typically lasts 7-8 weeks and consists of approximately six rehearsals and one evening concert. While it is free to participate, we ask that everyone re-register for each season.
Repertoire ranges from the traditional wind band canon to pops music to contemporary pieces. The level of difficulty of most of our pieces is around a NYSSMA level 4-5 (medium High School level). There is no participation fee and all concert band instruments are welcome.
