Eastman@St. Joseph’s Park

Eastman Community Music School is proud to present free weekly concerts featuring artists from the Eastman School of Music, Summer@Eastman, and ECMS. These performances offer an excellent opportunity to hear some of the best musicians that Rochester has to offer at absolutely no cost to you!

Lunchtime concerts will be at the historic downtown landmark, St. Joseph’s Park, on Wednesdays @ 12:30pm.

Kojun Hatta (alto saxophone) is a software engineer at Philips Healthcare by day, and a busy musician by night. He started playing saxophone in the 5th grade, eventually playing in the Oklahoma State University Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Saxophone Quartet. Over the years, he has additionally learned to play bassoon, flute, clarinet, and some oboe. He currently plays multiple woodwind instruments across a variety of local music organizations, including concert bands, jazz bands, orchestras, pit bands, and chamber ensembles. He is also an avid ice hockey goaltender, and enjoys reading in his copious free time.

After 35+ years as an engineer for Xerox while playing music in various community groups at night, Brad Willard (baritone saxophone) has retired to a life of leisure and expanded music opportunities. Brad plays single reed instruments (and electric bass) in a variety of music groups and pit orchestras. In addition, he has arranged several pieces for his clarinet quartet and concert band.

Roxanne Willard (soprano saxophone) is a retired school librarian. She met her husband, Brad, while playing in the Perinton Concert Band, and they have been making music together ever since. She has two adult children, and that empty nest inspired her to embrace her music even more in 2016.  She plays with the ECMS Music Educators Wind Ensemble, Honeoye Falls Community Concert Band, various pit orchestras around the area and the Hazardous Winds sax quartet. She enjoys reading, hiking, and learning about other cultures.

Mark Zaretsky (tenor saxophone) is the proud father of 2 daughter and a retired Kodak engineer (41yrs) who enjoys many hobbies such as hiking, biking, traveling, dancing and music. He started playing saxophone in 5th grade and continued through college and graduate school, participating in both concert and jazz bands. After a long hiatus while raising a family, he returned to playing 10 years ago and currently is in the Eastman School Music Educators Wind Ensemble (MEWE) and the Hazardous Winds sax quartet.
