Zhilin Zhang is a third-year PhD student in Music Education at Eastman School of Music. She received her B.M. in Music Education from Henan University and an M.M. in Music Education from the University of Michigan. She has diverse teaching experience in both China and the U.S. Zhilin taught for two years in a public school, in an early childhood program, and for eight years as a flute teacher in China. She has also taught in a summer band program and an urban music program in Ann Arbor. Zhilin’s educational focus includes cross-cultural music education and culturally responsive pedagogy.
