Hsu, Yun Chih

Yun Chih Hsu, was praised as “One of the most potential young pianists” as well as “The mature performance and stage charm are beyond her age”. “Her control over pianissimo is astonishing. She has an absolutely precocious sense of duration and keyboard geography” (Drimitry Bashkirov), award wining-pianist.

Yun Chih Hsu performs as a soloist and chamber musicians throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, at venues such as Taiwan National Concert Hall, Lincoln Center, Barcelona Palau de la Música Catalana. At the age of 10, she was admitted to the world-famous Juilliard School of Music (The Juilliard School pre-college) in New York City with a full scholarship. Hsu studied under the internationally renowned pianist Professor Matti Raekallio. Currently pursuing her doctoral degree at the Eastman School of Music, under the tutelage of internationally renowned pianist Professor Alexander Kobrin.

Hsu has shown outstanding musical talent and unique playing talent since she was a child. She has participated in various piano competitions since the age of 7 and won numerous awards, including the first prize of the 12th International Taipei Chopin Piano Competition, Paderewski International Piano Competition, and has been selected for major competitions around the world, including Rubinstein International Piano competition, Chopin International Competition in Warsaw, Gina Bachauer etc. In 2020, she served as the ambassador for the Music Rising Stars in the New Taipei City in Taiwan. In 2022, she won the first prize at the KF International Chopin Piano Competition in Washington, USA, and was honored by Invited to perform at the Polish Embassy in Washington, D.C.. In 2024 , Hsu had the honor to win the prestige Eastman New York—Carnegie Debut Award competition and the Henry Cobos Endowed Piano Prize awarded by the Eastman School of Music for outstanding achievements. She also served as the official collaborative pianist for the Wideman International Piano Concerto Competition.
