In March 2026, Peterson was appointed Principal Clarinet of the Rochester Philharmonic
Orchestra in New York. Anders Peterson is a 2025 Masters of Music graduate from the
University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music and a 2022 BMA graduate of
USC Thornton. He is a member of the internationally acclaimed studio of Yehuda Gilad and an
accomplished orchestral artist and soloist. He graduated high school from the Interlochen Arts
Academy in 2018, receiving the highly coveted Young Artist Award. In the summer of 2024, he
performed with the Tanglewood Music Center Festival Orchestra under the Boston Symphony
Orchestra director, Andris Nelsons. A 2018 National YoungArts Finalist and 2017 member of
NYO-USA, Peterson has performed in Carnegie Hall and toured Latin America. He has appeared
as a soloist with several professional and semi-professional symphony orchestras over the years
including the Minnesota Orchestra, Bloomington Symphony, Dakota Valley Symphony
Orchestra, and most recently the Cascade Symphony in Edmonds, Oregon. His past teachers
have included Dr. Jun Qian, Scott Anderson, Emil Khudyev, Bryan Conger, Gabriel
Campos-Zamora, Alexander Fiterstein, Richie Hawley, and David Howard.
