Youth II Ensemble is for high-school aged students who have studied classical guitar at least two years, and who have either “graduated” from Youth I or who otherwise been given permission to take this ensemble. Students in this group will perform in the community and are expected to have fluent note reading through to 5th position, projected sound, and a solid basic technique.  Seeing other students play and making music with them is enriching and fun and an extraordinary opportunity for guitar students to develop ensemble playing skills. Students in these classes will perform a wide variety of repertoire and further develop their musicianship in a fun group setting.

Permission required. email lmcgrath@esm.rochester.edu for more information.

Audition Requirements:
1) Perform two contrasting pieces on classical guitar that demonstrate your current level of guitar playing
2) Sight-reading
