The New Horizons Advanced String and Full Orchestras are designed for adults with experience on orchestral instruments, and who are interested in building/reinforcing their ensemble skills through challenging repertoire choices.  Sessions are in a traditional ‘orchestra-rehearsal’ format and address a variety of topics, including music-reading, rhythm skills, instrument technique, ensemble playing, and following a conductor.  Participants are encouraged to share their questions, as well as their successes and struggles in rehearsal, as participants have much to learn from each other.  Repertoire choices will consist of classical favorites, famous orchestral scores, some original scores, and arrangements from an intermediate to advanced level.

This is a yearlong course divided into two semesters. Spring semester will be automatically re-registered unless written notification is received by December 1.
