Intermediate Brass Ensemble
General Information
DescriptionThis is a yearlong course divided into two semesters.
This ensemble is for brass players who are in grades 6-12 and playing at a NYSSMA level 3 or 4, OR with permission of the instructor. Brass instruments include Trumpet, French Horn, Baritone/Euphonium, Trombone, Bass Trombone and Tuba.
Each week we will practice music together that the students have practiced individually at home. The music will be from a wide variety of styles including marches, classical, popular, jazz, holiday and more.
Small ensemble participation enhances the school music experience through more contact hours of playing and instruction, as well as an opportunity to read new music frequently which furthers musical knowledge and sight reading ability.
