Advanced Brass Ensemble

DescriptionThis is a yearlong course divided into two semesters.
This ensemble is for advanced brass players with NYSSMA Level 5 and 6 experience. Students should be taking weekly lessons with a private teacher and have a consistent practice schedule. Open to Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Bass Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, and Percussion students. Students will work weekly on the fundamentals of small ensemble playing such as blend, balance, and intonation. Works to be covered may include those by Gabrieli, DiLorenzo, Bach and John Williams. This ensemble is provided for the area’s best and brightest brass and percussion students. Private teacher recommendation or a brief audition is required.
