Benjamin Younghwi Kim, hailing from South Korea, is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trumpet Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music. He began his musical training in South Korea before earning his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees as a government scholarship recipient in Hungary. An active orchestral musician, Benjamin is currently a principal trumpet of the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes and performs regularly as a substitute with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Syracuse Orchestra, Ontario Philharmonic Orchestra, and Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra. Dedicated to music education, he serves as a Teaching Assistant for the Eastman School of Music trumpet studio and secondary trumpet lessons at the University of Rochester.
