SEPTEMBER 9, 2026 | Congratulations to Eastman DMA student Veniamin Blokh for winning first prize in the Artists Category of the 2026 George Gershwin International Piano Competition, receiving a monetary prize and the opportunity to perform in concerts throughout the United States and abroad. He was also recognized with a Special Prize for Outstanding Performance of a Work from the Baroque Era. In addition, Blokh recently took first prize in the 2026 Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition.
SEPTEMBER 20, 2025 | Veniamin Blokh placed in the Professional Categories of two prestigious music competitions, receiving a Gold Medal in the Manhattan International Music Competition and taking second prize in the Artists Category of the Pacific Stars International Piano Competition (Online Division), winning a certificate diploma along with an invitation to the 2026 Piano Concerto Festival & Piano Island Festival, and the opportunity to perform in the winners recital at the Lake Forest Performing Arts Center. Veniamin is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and literature, studying with Professor Alan Chow.
