APRIL 8, 2026 | Congratulations to Jerome Bell, a PhD candidate in Music Theory, on his appointment as Assistant Professor of Music Theory at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he previously served as a guest lecturer.
APRIL 24, 2025 | Jerome was named a recipient of the Ball Dissertation Fellowship, awarded to only two candidates across the University of Rochester’s humanities and social sciences. The fellowship will support the completion of Jerome’s dissertation, “Applying Analytical Approaches to Contemporary Black Gospel Music.”
