Congratulations to Eastman DMA candidate and cellist Isaac Moorman ’24E (MM) for winning the Jack Heller Young Artist Competition in Tampa, Florida, with pianist and fellow DMA candidate Veniamin Blokh accompanying. As winner of the competition, he will receive a cash prize of $3000 and will be the featured soloist in 3 performances with the Tampa Bay Symphony in May 2026. Isaac, who was recently appointed Adjunct Cello Faculty at Rollins College in Orlando, Florida, currently serves as Assistant Principal Cellist for the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, while also performing as Principal Cellist for the Space Coast Symphony and the Riverside Chamber Orchestra. He received his Master of Music degree in piano performance and literature from Eastman where he is also pursuing his doctorate, studying with Professor Joseph Johnson.
