βI am thrilled to welcome Sarah Rhee back to Eastman,β shares Kate Sheeran, Joan and Martin Messinger Dean. βHer experience as both a performer and pedagogue, combined with her longstanding connection to Eastman, makes her uniquely suited to inspire and guide the next generation of musicians and educators.β
βI am deeply honored and excited to return to the Eastman School of Music as a member of the piano faculty,β says Rhee. βEastman profoundly shaped me as a musician and educator, and the mentorship I received from my professors instilled in me a deep respect for artistic excellence, thoughtful pedagogy, and the importance of developing students both artistically and individually. Returning to Eastman is especially meaningful because it allows me to carry forward the legacy of the teachers who invested so deeply in me. I hope to foster an environment of rigor, creativity, compassion, and collaboration while helping train the next generation of pianists and educators. Eastman has long been a place where artistry and humanity flourish together, and I am thrilled to contribute to that vibrant community.β
Dr. Rhee maintains a distinguished record of teaching at both collegiate and preparatory levels and is a frequent adjudicator for regional, national, and international competitions. A committed leader in the field of piano pedagogy, she currently serves as president of the Rochester Piano Teachers Guild.
