DECEMBER 9, 2025 | Congratulations to baritone saxophonist and woodwind doubler Allison Young, chosen as one of five winners of the Jazz Education Network’s 2026 Sisters in Jazz Competition. In January, Allison will attend the 17th annual JEN Conference in New Orleans where she will rehearse and perform with the selected quintet, directed by world-renowned drummer Terri Lyne Carrington who performed at Eastman in October as part of the Eastman Presents series.
SEPTEMBER 4, 2025 | Allison was awarded the 2025 Hal Leonard Collegiate Scholarship from the Jazz Education Network (JEN). She was selected based on outstanding artistic accomplishments, receiving a $1,000 scholarship to support her studies at Eastman where she is pursuing a Master of Music degree in Jazz Performance.
