BIOGRAPHY
Deborah Conquest is an American soprano, vocal pedagogue, and founder of Conquest Voice Studio in Rochester, New York. She holds a Master of Music in Voice from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), and a Bachelor of Music in Voice, cum laude, from SUNY Fredonia. She is a proud alumna of the Eastman School of Music Preparatory Honors Diploma (now Community Music School) and a member of the First Inversion Choir.
With over twenty years of performing and teaching experience, Conquest has taught applied voice, vocal pedagogy, and master classes in the United States and Italy, including conservatories in Florence, Pisa, and Lucca, as well as the Hochstein School, Nazareth College, Florida International University, Barry University, and the University of Miami. She specializes in guiding classically trained singers into contemporary styles with expressive range and healthy, functional technique. Her approach draws from current voice science and Somatic Voicework™—The LoVetri Method, emphasizing strength, agility, emotional truth, and longevity.
Conquest’s students have been accepted into top programs including NYU, CCM, Syracuse University, Ithaca College, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Pace University, and the Eastman School of Music, and have performed on Broadway, the West End, national and international tours, The Voice, American Idol, Carnegie Hall, and with organizations such as Disney, the Joffrey Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Garth Fagan Dance, Geva Theatre Center, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
As a performer, she has appeared with Florida Grand Opera, Aspen Music Festival, Chautauqua Opera, Cincinnati Opera Theatre, and the Puccini Festival in Lucca, Italy, and has sung the national anthem on U.S. and Italian television.
Conquest serves as Associate Editor of NATS Inter Nos, is a proud member of NATS, the College Music Society, NYSTA, MTEA. and is an advocate for social justice and equality in the performing arts, particularly addressing fatphobia. Outside the studio, she enjoys hiking, rockabilly music, competitive powerlifting, houseplants, being a stage mom, and chocolate cake—not necessarily in that order.
