Barbosa, Kaylie

Kaylie Barbosa Kemler is a music educator and soprano dedicated to fostering musical growth through both performance and teaching. She is currently pursuing her Master of Music in Music Education with a focus on Vocal Performance at the Eastman School of Music, where she holds a graduate assistantship teaching Voice Class I/II to first-year Music Teaching and Learning students. A graduate of SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance, Kaylie has extensive teaching experience ranging from private lessons at the Eastman Community Music School to classroom instruction as a long-term substitute for Gananda Middle and High School choir and general music.

As a performer, Kaylie has appeared as soprano soloist with the Geneseo Symphony Orchestra in works by Haydn, Bach, and Mozart, and performed in the ensemble of the Finger Lakes Opera’s 2023 production of Aida. She is equally at home on the musical theater stage, with roles including Mimi in Theater 444’s production of RENT and Alice in Theater 444’s production of Alice by Heart, as well as music directing James and the Giant Peach with Gananda Middle School Drama Club. She is a recipient of numerous honors, including first place in the 2024 Central NY NATS competition and SUNY Geneseo’s Concerto Competition. Passionate about accessible and inclusive music education, Kaylie brings energy, artistry, and care to every teaching and performance opportunity.
