Guitar Intensive Workshop
General Information
DescriptionIn this workshop for guitarists of all levels (entering grades 6-9), participants will explore making music on the acoustic guitar as soloists and ensemble members that will conclude with a recital featuring all participants. Students will develop new skills and a deeper understanding of music through an exploration of multiple styles of guitar music (classical, blues, rock, and more). With fun activities and projects including song writing, learning about guitar construction, and different extended techniques, this jam-packed workshop will kickstart study, or amplify and deepen skills and knowledge for those with experience in guitar. Those who take part will need to complete a survey form to assess level for placement, must provide their own classical acoustic instrument (in working condition) and guitar footstool or other support, and be ready to rock!
Additional Info–Please note that payment is not due at the time of registration. The student will be billed.
–Also note that housing and meals are not included/available. Students should pack a lunch every day (refrigeration not provided).
This was perhaps the best summer camp we have ever signed our child up for. The three-day, intensive format was an excellent experience for him both socially and musically. His playing noticeably improved in just three days! After the workshop was over, the amount of time he spent practicing guitar, on his own, without being prompted, went up A LOT. We can’t wait to sign him up for another year!
