Adventure Music Camp

Description

Spend a week at Eastman making music with people just like you- who love playing, learning, and creating, all in a supportive and fun environment. This is an exciting day camp (commuting students) for students entering grades 5-9 (current grades 4-8). After a brief orientation on Sunday afternoon, we meet daily, Monday through Friday, from 9am – 4pm with activities that include ensemble rehearsals (band and string orchestra), music and movement, percussion (for all), and World Music. On our final day, we will share the results of our adventures to friends and family in a performance!

Orientation: Sunday July 26, 2026 / 2:00- 3:00 p.m.
Performance: Friday July 31, 2026 / 3:30pm / Hatch Recital Hall

Program Information

Eligibility

This program is for students entering grades 5-9 that have at least two years’ experience on their instrument and are playing at a NYSSMA level 2 or Suzuki book 2 or higher. A teacher’s letter of recommendation is part of the application so that appropriate music can be selected for the ensembles. No audition necessary. What is required? A great attitude and a desire to explore the world of music!

Instruments accepted are bowed strings, winds, brass, and percussion.
Not included this year are voice, piano, guitar, or harp.

Tuition:
–Please note that payment is not due at the time of registration. The student will be billed.
–Also note that housing and meals are not included/available. Students should pack a lunch every day (refrigeration not provided), and students from other states or countries will need to secure their own housing.

*There are 3 groups alternating classes throughout the day, meaning the schedule order for each student will vary!
