Guitar Adventure 2
General Information

DescriptionThis is a yearlong course divided into two semesters.
Students in grades 3-6 who have taken at least one year of private instruction or who have “graduated” from Guitar Adventure 1 are the best fit for this class. Participants must be able to read in first position on at least three strings and have established a fundamental solid technique that includes proper playing posture, the use of finger alternation, and correct left-hand fingerings. Students will continue explore the possibilities of the acoustic guitar in this fun-filled ensemble setting while also working to bring technique and musicianship to the next level through the exploration of various styles of music, from classical to rock. Students must provide their own classical acoustic guitar in playable condition, a guitar footstool, and a folder for handouts. A clip-on electronic tuner is strongly encouraged.
