Guanlin Ji is a Chinese saxophonist currently pursuing graduate studies in Saxophone Performance at the Eastman School of Music, where he studies with internationally renowned saxophonist Professor Chien-Kwan Lin. His artistic interests focus on classical saxophone performance, chamber music, and exploring the expressive possibilities of the saxophone repertoire.

Guanlin Ji completed his Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance at the School of Music, Soochow University, where he studied with Dr. Sean Xue and Professor Clément Himbert. During his undergraduate studies, he developed his musical approach through solo performance, saxophone ensemble, and wind ensemble experiences, with a particular interest in collaboration and musical interpretation.

As a performer, Ji has received recognition in national competitions, including First Prize at the 8th China Youth Music Competition “Hummingbird Music Award” in 2023 and First Prize at the 9th Hummingbird Music Award in 2024. He has participated in masterclasses with internationally recognized saxophonists, including Arno Bornkamp, Les Désaxés Saxophone Quartet, and Sergey Kolesov. His performance experiences include participation in the 20th World Saxophone Congress and concerts with the Soochow University School of Music.

In addition to performing, Ji is passionate about saxophone education. He has taught private saxophone lessons and saxophone interest classes since 2023, working with students of different ages and helping them develop fundamental skills, musical expression, and appreciation for music.

As a graduate student, Guanlin Ji continues to expand his artistic perspective through advanced study, performance, and collaboration. He is dedicated to developing his musicianship and contributing to the growth and recognition of the classical saxophone.
