Congratulations to Dr. Zehao (Nick) Bai ’25E (DMA) for being named Assistant Professor of Piano at the Townsend School of Music at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, beginning this fall.
A dynamic soloist and educator, he has performed and taught throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. Before joining the Mercer faculty, Dr. Bai was Visiting Assistant Professor of Piano Performance at the University of Toledo and completed a nine-city concert tour in China with ACOrange earlier this year. Dr. Bai is also an accomplished chamber musician, performing in the piano duo Coco&Nick alongside pianist Ke’er Wang. Together, they have appeared at festivals and institutions nationwide. Among his many honors, Dr. Bai has received awards in the Heida Hermanns and Sonare International Piano Competitions.Β
He earned his doctoral degree in piano performance and literature from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Professor Marina Lomazov and Professor Joseph Rackers, and was awarded the Henry Cobos Endowed Piano Prize.
