2026 Rochester Audition Dates: Fridays, January 30th, February 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th.
2026 Remote Audition Option: Applicants who would like to audition virtually may upload an audition video by February 1st following the guidelines below.
PRE-SCREENING AND AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate
There is no pre-screening required for BM Trumpet.
Undergraduate Audition Requirements:
- Two contrasting pieces: these can either be solo pieces or etudes.
- Three orchestral excerpts of your choice.
- Possible sight reading.
Applicants in jazz studies and contemporary media should refer to the section on jazz for their requirements.
Graduate
There is no pre-screening required for MM/DMA Trumpet.
Graduate Trumpet Audition Requirements:
- Two contrasting solo pieces
- Two contrasting etudes
- Three orchestral excerpts of your choice
- Possible sight reading
