Aliza Small is a first year horn performance major from Fairfax, Virginia. Prior to joining the Eastman Horn Studio, Aliza studied with James Nickel and was a member of the National Symphony Orchestra Youth Fellowship Program, through which she performed with chamber ensembles, observed and played in NSO rehearsals. Aliza was previously principal horn in the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (AYP), The Capitol Symphonic Youth Orchestra (TCSYO), and the Robinson Philharmonic Orchestra and Symphonic Band. In high school, Aliza participated in the Northern Virginia Senior Regional Orchestra and the Virginia All-State Band and Orchestra. In 2024, she performed with the Robinson Symphonic Band at the National Concert Band Festival in Indiana and the Midwest Clinic in Chicago. Outside of music, Aliza enjoys spending time in nature, baking, and visiting new places.
