Lessons Registration Request – Eastman School of Music

Lessons are for Undergraduate River Campus students and Eastman students seeking secondary-lessons, only. TAKE 5 scholars, KEY students and UR or Simon graduate students are NOT eligible.

If you are currently taking lessons, you are not required to re-audition. Instead you will receive an email receive an email regarding instructions.

If you were absent from campus for the previous semester or academic year to study abroad, or if you took a leave of absence, etc., you must contact the Academic Affairs Office at Eastman to re-activate your request for instruction [academicaffairs@esm.rochester.edu]. You will not be required to re-audition if your record indicates your previous semesters of study have been successful.

Auditions are in-person, but, if conditions warrant, may be either via recorded video/audio or live-virtual Zoom. Up-to-date information and specific audition requirements (as pdf) may be found at Arthur Satz Department of Music web page.

Due to current teaching load, there are no available openings for additional voice students, therefore there will be no voice auditions for Spring 2026 semester. Please sign up for the Fall 2026 semester (opening in April 2026).
