Eastman School of Music to Host Two Major Admissions Events in a Single Day
The 18th Annual Upstate New York Music College Fair and Eastman Experience Day
will both be held on Monday, October 6, 2025.
For the first time, the Eastman School of Music will host Eastman Experience Day and the Upstate New York Music College Fair on the same day, creating one of the most comprehensive music admissions experiences available for prospective students. On Monday, October 6, 2025, students are invited to Eastman’s campus to experience life as a music major through meetings with Eastman’s faculty and current students, access to ensemble rehearsals, and rapid-fire presentations by various academic departments. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about the music application process and connect with nearly 50 other music schools at the 18th Annual Upstate New York Music College Fair, co-hosted with The Juilliard School and Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. This full day of events is designed for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are interested in music and the arts. Undergraduate students seeking information about graduate school options are invited to attend the College Fair.
EVENT SCHEDULE
- 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Eastman Experience Day
This immersive open house offers attendees a firsthand look at life as an Eastman student through academic presentations and musical performances. - 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. | Panel presentation on applying to music schools
Admissions representatives from the Eastman School of Music, The Juilliard School, and Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre, and Dance offer insights on the admissions process in Hatch Recital Hall. - 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. | College Fair
Held in the Cominsky Promenade (Second floor of 26 Gibbs Street) and balcony level of Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre. More information, including a schedule of activities, directions, and a full list of exhibiting schools, may be found online.
In addition to Eastman, Juilliard, and Ithaca, other represented institutions at the College Fair include Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, New England Conservatory, Oberlin Conservatory, Roberts Wesleyan University, SUNY Potsdam, Syracuse University’s Setnor School of Music, Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, and more.
Admission to both events is free, but registration is required at the links below. Please note that these are two separate events, and while attendance at both is encouraged, it is not required.
