Allison Curran

BIOGRAPHY
Allison Curran (she/her) has 15 years of experience as a development professional, working at a range of institutions and securing funding from foundations, individuals, corporations, and government agencies. She is currently the Director of Development for the New York region of Facing History & Ourselves, a nonprofit that uses the lessons of history to challenge teachers and their students to stand up to racism, antisemitism, and other forms of bigotry and hate. In this role, she manages a four-person team and raises approximately $6MM in secured funds each year for a wide range of programs and initiatives.

Allison began her career as a grant writer at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where she raised funds for the organization’s seven performance series, including Great Performances, Mostly Mozart, and the Lincoln Center Festival. Previous roles include Director of Institutional Giving and Major Gifts at the Jewish Museum, where she led a team of eight in securing funds for the Museum’s exhibitions, outreach programs, special projects, and general operations, as well as frontline fundraising positions at the World Science Festival and “I Have a Dream” Foundation – New York. She holds an MA in Arts Administration from Columbia University and a BA in English and Theater and Performance Studies from Georgetown University. In her free time, she enjoys going to plays, concerts, films, and NY Liberty basketball games.
