Leon Chou
Piano Accompanying
Leon Chou is a Taiwanese-American pianist currently pursuing an MM degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music. He studies with Dr. Andrew Harley and holds a graduate assistantship in vocal and instrumental accompanying. He studied piano most recently with Marc Steiner and Jeffrey Sykes, as well as organ with George Emblom and Liz Forsyth.
After graduating from UC Berkeley with degrees in Mathematics and Creative Writing, Leon moved to Taiwan where he worked as an English teacher. Upon returning to the U.S., he worked as a church organist for St. Albans Episcopal Church and later became the music director of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. He also served as the choral accompanist for Cantare Con Vivo, Berkeley Community Chorus and Orchestra, and the Albany Middle and High School vocal programs. Additionally, Leon has served as the Orchestra Manager of Berkeley Youth Orchestra since 2023.
