Douglas Lowry, who served as the Joan and Martin Messinger Dean of the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, passed away on October 2. A composer, conductor, and academic leader who was keenly attuned to the shifting music world and its challenges for music schools and students, he was 62.

The Eastman School of Music has created a memorial website at esm.rochester.edu/lowry which contains videos and excerpts from  speeches and writings, photos, videos, information about a memorial fund, and an opportunity to share tributes.
