Congratulations to Eastman students Zachary Costello (Master of Music candidate in Saxophone Performance), Kai Gray (undergraduate student in Percussion Performance), and Yanzuo Nicole Liu (Master of Music candidate in Performance and Literature) for winning the 36th Annual Yamaha Young Performing Artists (YYPA) Competition. As winners, they will receive an all-expense-paid trip to the YYPA Celebration Weekend held at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana from June 21 to June 24, 2025, where they will have the opportunity to perform at the Music For All® Summer Symposium, presented by YAMAHA®. They can also attend workshops and clinics designed to launch a professional career and get media exposure throughout the world via the Internet.
Also recognizing Harrison Kim, undergraduate student in Clarinet Performance, and Christopher Yao ’25E, who recently earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Applied Music (piano), for receiving Honorable Mentions.
