2027 Rochester Audition Dates: Fridays, January 29th, February 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th.
2027 Remote Audition Option: Applicants who would like to audition virtually may upload an audition video by February 1st following the guidelines below.
PRE-SCREENING AND AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate
Undergraduate Pre-Screening Requirements:
- One standard solo piece or one movement of a sonata or concerto
- Three contrasting orchestral excerpts
Undergraduate Audition Requirements:
- Two contrasting pieces: these can either be solo pieces or etudes
- Three orchestral excerpts of your choice
- Possible sight reading
Applicants in jazz studies and contemporary media should refer to the section on jazz for their requirements.
Graduate
Please Note: There are no openings for MM Trumpet for Fall 2027.
Graduate Pre-Screening Requirements:
- One standard solo piece or one movement of a sonata or concerto

- Two contrasting solo pieces
- Two contrasting etudes
- Three orchestral excerpts of your choice
