Diego Solis is a third-year horn performance major from Laredo, Texas. Being inspired by his father, who also was a hornist, he began playing the horn at the age of 11. Before transferring to the Eastman School of Music, he previously studied with Dr. Kenneth Iyescas and Mrs. Heather Test in Texas. In 2022 and 2023, Diego was selected to perform and tour with the National Youth Orchestra of the USA. In 2025, Diego performed with ensembles such as the Texas Music Festival Orchestra in Houston, Texas and the New York String Orchestra in New York City. Outside of school, he substitutes with professional orchestras such as the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra.

At Eastman, Diego is proudly a member of the Sonus Brass Quintet and Miles Below Horn Quartet. He studies mainly with Professor Peter Kurau and Mr. Jacek Musyk. To add, Diego is one of the two admins of the Eastman Horn Studio account on Instagram! Outside of horn, Diego enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and keeping up with anything that has to do with sports!
