STUDENT PROFILE
Korean pianist Jeongmin Oak is currently pursuing her first-year Master of Music degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music, under the direction of Dr. Harley.
She started her solo piano training at the age of 5 and since then she has received a number of awards. She actively played for performances as a chamber musician as well as solo pianist at numerous halls in her home country, including the Jangchan Art Hall and Herman Art Hall. She received a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Seoul National University, studying under Professor MinjungLee. She participated in several festivals around the globe, including the Edward Auer Piano Workshop at Indiana University.
As a collaborative pianist, she has been actively performing as a repetiteur, vocal coach and pianist. During her undergraduate studies, she was involved in the student production of the opera Le Nozze de Figaro with Professor Jennifer Larmore. In addition, she has vast experience working with vocalists while being the studio accompanist for voice studios. Also, she was engaged in lots of musical works in Korea both as a pianist and assistant music director. At Eastman, she serves as a Studio Accompanying and Opera Graduate Assistant.
