Hyejin Suzie Lee
STUDENT PROFILE
Hyejin Suzie Lee is a hornist born in South Korea and raised in Ohio. She gained early recognition with her orchestral debut performing Shostakovichβs Cello Concerto No. 1, reviewed by Cleveland Classical for her βincredible depth of soundβ and a powerful obbligato solo that βfilled every inch of the hall.β An avid educator, Lee serves as Instructor of Horn at SUNY Geneseo and as a Student Teacher of Horn at the Eastman Community Music School. Additionally, she spent two consecutive summers at the Kent Blossom Music Festival, performing with The Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center. She has also participated in the PRISMA Festival and the Vienna Summer Music Festival. Lee earned her bachelorβs degree at the Peabody Institute, where she studied with Robert Rearden. She is currently pursuing a masterβs degree in Horn Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music and studies with Peter Kurau and Maura Corvington. Outside of music, Suzie enjoys hip-hop dancing and spending time with her orange cat, Pumpkin.
