Jiae Kwak
CURRENT STUDENT PROFILE
Jiae Kwak has been a leading performer since she was nine years old. She has had multiple special awards and achievements from a very young age. She was accepted into the bachelor’s program at the Korean National University of Arts, regarded as the top music school in Korea. As a student there, she performed at the highest level in the organ courses and received a full scholarship.
After graduation, she was elected as a representative for her college for Torch missionary center’s new graduate concert, which is regarded as the best debut stage for new musicians in Korea. In addition, she performed with the Korean Symphony Orchestra for the G-20 Summit celebration concert in 2010.
Jiae has had many global performance experiences, including notable venues spanning four continents. She has studied with David Titterington (UK), Jon Laukvik(DE), Martin Schmeding(DE), Martin Sander(DE), Wolfgang Zerer(DE), and Arvid Gast(DE). In 2010, she won first prize in the Interbulgo competition in South Korea. In 2015, Jiae participated in an international organ competition for Silberman(DE) and Saint-Maurice (SUI). In 2018, she took masterclasses with Louis Robilliard(FR), and François Espinasse’s(FR). In 2022, she was selected to participate in the Sursa American Organ Competition.
Jiae is currently attending the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester studying with Nathan Laube, who is one of the most famous organists worldwide. She was the first graduate student to be awarded the new Salisbury Scholarship by the American Guild of Organists.
