STUDENT PROFILE
Jacob Factor is a 4th year PhD student in music education. He earned his Masters of music and Bachelor degrees in performance and education from Ithaca College. His teaching experience largely centers around providing the utmost in personalized experiences through one-on-one private lessons. Jacob primarily teaches his two main instruments, French horn and guitar. Jacob’s research interests are horn materials and pedagogy–understanding what we use, when, why, and how we use them, and continuing to develop more user-friendly musical examples from which teachers and students can benefit.
Jacob chose Eastman for the “quality education I knew that I would get from the professors and school environment. Education should expand our thinking, challenge our assumptions, and nurture our development into more whole professionals, and can very happily say that my time here has done just that!” A fun fact about Jacob: “I love to create. Apart from musical creativity such as original compositions and arrangements, I also enjoy woodworking and knitting.”
