Evan de Jong is an organist from the Chicago area, pursuing a Master of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music in the studio of Nathan Laube. Evan earned his undergraduate degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he studied organ with Dr. Jonathan Moyer. Evan grew up in the Anglican/Episcopal tradition and currently serves as Organ Scholar at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Rochester. He has previously served as organist for Our Lady of Victory & St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rochester, and as Organ Scholar at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Cleveland. Evan is interested in seventeenth century music and has experienced the historic organs of Northern Europe in a variety of masterclasses in Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany. He is also passionate about the music of the Anglican tradition in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
