Evan de Jong is an organist from the Chicago area, currently pursuing a Master of Music in Organ at the Eastman School of Music, in the studio of Nathan Laube. Evan earned his undergraduate degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he studied organ with Jonathan Moyer, harpsichord and basso continuo with Mark Edwards, improvisation with Christa Rakich, and musicology with Steven Plank.

Evan is an avid scholar of seventeenth century music. He has traveled to Europe to visit historic organs and to attend masterclasses led by Hans Davidsson (SE), Peter Westerbrink (NL), and Arvid Gast (DE). He is especially focused on the music of Dutch organist Jan Pieterzoon Sweelinck and Danish-German organist Dieterich Buxtehude. Evan has undertaken projects concerning the music of Stralsund theologian and composer Caspar Movius, and Braunschweig organist Delphin Strunck.

Evan grew up in the Episcopal tradition and has previously served as Organ Scholar at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Cleveland, OH, and as an interim organist for Christ Episcopal Church in Oberlin, OH.
