Abigail Crafton is a third-year undergraduate organ performance major at the Eastman School of Music, where she studies with David Higgs. She began studying piano at age three and organ at age ten. In spring 2023, Abigail won both the local and Southeast Regional divisions of the American Guild of Organists’ Quimby Regional Competition for Young Organists. This distinction led to her appearance as a “Rising Star” at the 2024 AGO National Convention in San Francisco. She has also received prizes at the Baylor University High School Organ Competition (2023) and the AGO Young Organist Competition in Columbia, South Carolina (2024). In early 2025, she had the honor of performing in concert with the Canadian Brass.

More recently, Abigail was awarded second prize at the 2026 Northern Ireland International Organ Competition, where she also received the Dame Gillian Weir Medal for the competition’s best performance of an individual work. These honors have led to upcoming recital engagements at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, Trinity College, Cambridge, Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin and Waterford Cathedral. An active recitalist, Abigail has served as Organ Scholar at the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist in Savannah, Georgia, since 2022. Her former teachers include Doug Brown, Dr. Paul Thornock, and Nathan Laube.
